Harvesting your salads

The Cultivating Change team were at a fantastic school in Cambridge this week checking on how the children were getting on growing their salads. It was all looking fabulous due to the lovely sunshine and diligent watering from the children. We thought is was a perfect opportunity for Annabel (our 'Sow & Grow' expert/horticulturalist) to give her top tips on harvesting your salads.

Have a watch & let us know how you get on!

Healthy Eating Survey

Hi everyone, we are officially launching The Countryside Kitchen on 8th July with a press event if anyone would like to come along. We are Northamptonshire based in a little village called Yelvertoft.

The main reason for my post is that in preparation for the launch, we have a healthy eating survey out in collaboration with Grounded Research to help us develop our workshops.

I'd really aprpeciate you completing if you are able to, and also sharing with your own groups or networks if you can? It only takes a few moments but will hopefully help us to gauge a better understanding of the barriers faced by people who rely on ultra processed food etc.

Thanks so much Stuart for the update. Sounds as if you are really busy. Keen to hear about your Skinny Jean Gardener experience afterwards. He is so inspiring and passionate about bringing gardening into the curriculum!

Allotment update!

How is everyone getting on? Loving seeing my seeds starting to really grow on the allotment and seeing the changes every few days is amazing!

We have planted our kale, rainbow chard, broad beans, pak choi, coriander and growing in pots our courgettes, white pumpkin and onion squash. Hopefully we can plant those out in the next couple of weeks. I am worried about the wildlife munching on it though before it even has a chance!

Loving my first year with an allotment. You would never know it is in the middle of a city and is so relaxing.

How is your growing going? We would love to hear!
